With its virgins beaches, ecological parks and restaurants by the sea, there are many good thing to do in Punta Cana.

At the eastern end of the Dominican Republic you´ll find Punta Cana, a tourist city known for its resorts at the beach. At the present time it houses more than 500,000 hotel rooms, night club to dance all night long and of course 32 kilometers of white sand beaches.

For those who are looking to get out of all inclusive resorts to explore, there are great thing to do in the area, from national parks to chocolate museum, even a natural theme park.

 Saona Island

If you want to cape the tourist multitude the Saona Island is the Paradise you need. The island is a protected nature reserve and part of National Park of the East. You´ll find wild life all over the island, from birds to a beach full of starfishes. If you are lucky you´ll see sea turtles laying their eggs during the incubation season.

Scape Park

Limestone topography and virgin jungle from these natural theme park offers many views and impressive walks, there are also historic attritions. The cliff of Farallón extends 800 meters to the coast. There is also a hidden cenote, caves and a zip line. The park goal is to embrace the cultural heritage and traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean, with replicas of homes of the ancient Taíno Indians, who occupied the land before the arrival of the conquerors.

 Hoyo Azul

The turquoise waters attract the crowds. Hoyo Azul (Blue Hole) it’s a natural phenomenon full of crystal clear water. It is recommended to visit early, as it can be very popular, and do not forget to bring a swimsuit so you can bathe in the waters.

Ecological Reserve Ojo Indigena

In this fantastic place, there are 12 natural springs of crystalline waters that arise from the earth. There has been an observatory to appreciate its variety of birds, many of them endemic to the Caribbean.

Macao Beach

It is a popular place to surf and was recently listed by Unesco as one of the best beaches in the Caribbean, mainly to the crystal clear waters and the beautiful white sand bordered by tall palm trees.

 Capri Beach House

A charming beach club. Sit under the palm trees with piña colada and order the lobster at a very reasonable price.

ChocoMuseo

The chocolate museum is free. In it you can visit the grain factory to learn about the process, starting with the cocoa harvest, along the history of chocolate manufacture. You even have the opportunity to go to a chocolate manufacture workshop.

Coco Bongo

This club knows how to throw a show:  During the night, the imitators create a show with artist like Michael Jackson and Queen. There are also trapeze artists, singers and professional dancer on stage all the time. The club have open bar and you only pay for a fee at the door.

 Jellyfish

Just for the atmosphere it´s worth the visit. Walk by Bavaro Beach to get there and enjoy the stunning sea views while having lunch or dinner while listening to the waves. Some of the best dishes include snapper, mahi-mahi and sea bass, topped with delicious house sauce.

 Bavaro Beach

The crystal clear water of Bavaro Beach makes it ideal to practice snorkel, much hotels include snorkel equipment in your stay. For those who are more adventurous, there are plenty diving spots.Try paragliding, windsurfing or just enjoy a dip in the shallow natural pools separated by reefs
